About

Hi. I am Chhitiz ! A travel bot wandering in the augmented reality.

I have been on a personal quest to promote Indian destinations around the world. It's been more than a decade in the tourism industry helping travel enthusiasts to make their holidays memorable, offering advice to individuals and businesses alike.

I spare some time here to learn, share, and relearn. Hope you will find something worth a read on this blog.

It all began in 2009, bitten by the tourism bug, several months went on wheels in outdoing traveling and wandering in the unknown.

This map will give you a brief idea about my traveling history in India.

Let's have a short tête-à-tête about my journey:

I had a dream to live the life of a nomadic writer-wandering & traveling across various corners of the world.

Most people quit their corporate jobs to set for an adventure. My story is slightly different. After completing my education, I joined the tourism sector. It turned out to be a  perfect time to hit the ground running. I and my colleague received an official outdoor assignment to handle a group tour of about 300 people in the very first week of my joining. It was an 11-day itinerary.

Voila! a ticket to keep going. Nothing more could I ask for. A job that allowed fulfilling my wanderlust that too without spending a penny.

‌These were back to back assignments. I would not return home for months. Sleep in trains, buses, or cars traveling from one state to another. Visit a destination in the morning and set sail for exploring the next place by the evening. Hectic and full of responsibilities. But exciting. An incredible life-changing experience.

It opened new windows of dreams, ideas and gave the courage to travel confidently almost anywhere without reservations. Since then I am hooked permanently to traveling. It's been my career and passion. My itineraries now are short and a mix of official as well as personal trips.

I still work in the tourism sector helping float other's boats of living their travel dreams.

Wait a minute folks!

It was half the story. My passion for writing was still lurking deep in my soul. I found that many tourist places in India were underrated and needed exposure. Creating a blog back then in 2011, seemed to be a good idea for sharing personal travelogue and bringing those unknown places to a digital platform. Apart from travel, it was also about photo sharing, musings, and daily life.

What has changed in 2020?

Wandering and Traveling is no longer just a travelogue. Rechristened as WAT, it's now an intersection of tourism, business, and technology.

Fast forward to 2020, this old school blog also talks about:

The Pandemic
This unprecedented situation has taken a toll on travel and outdoor enthusiasts. This is what I am doing during the COVID19 lockdown :

  • Working from home and also sometimes from the office.
  • Currently reading -Deep Work by Cal Newport.
