Crossing The Pamban Bridge



Operational from 1914

After boarding the train from Madurai station, sleeping was the wisest option. 

So, as the train started moving, I went into a deep sleep. Suddenly awakened by the appalling sound of the wheels, thundering over the railway track, I peeped out of the window to see what was wrong. And to my amazement, I saw that the train was crossing over a  beautiful rail bridge named Pamban Bridge. It's a 2 km stretch across Palk Strait connecting Rameswaram.
